I suggest you search google for Silkypix users forums. You can learn Silkypix, and probably enjoy it, but dont expect many tips here on dpreview, where there are very few Silkypix users. Silkypix is a fully featured raw developer but with a very different user's interface.

Initially, I thought I may just go JPEG in camera but burnt out and blacken picture happen very often with the ever changing environment. I learned editing by myself and am wondering if I missed finding such features in Silkypix. But with Silkypix, I do not find such features. LR's Highlight, Shadow, White and Black functions serve me very well to reduce the back lighting and brighten the bird up. I have downloaded both Silkypix Developer Studio 8 SE and Silkypix Developer Studio 4.4 SE.Īs my main interest is birds, at least 70% of my Raw files will have strong back lighting.

As my photography interest are only for hobby and now retired, I am reluctant to upgrade to the latest LR. But with the newer G9, LR 5.7 does not support RW2 files. My old Canon Raw files I use LR 5.7 for processing. Just jumped from Canon 2 months ago to G9.
